Lakeside Medical Missions in Guatemala

God is at work in Guatemala and we want to be  part of it! In the Bible study “Experiencing God”, Henry Blackaby tells us that God is at work and we need to see where He is working and work along with Him. We had a chance to see this happening last week in Jocotillo, Guatemala. We joined in with Lakeside Baptist Church to provide a medical clinic and it was amazing. I had a blast and learned a lot as well. Hundreds of people not only were given physical help with medications and better sight with eye glasses but an answer to their heart issues as well. Many were saved and the plan of salvation was shared with all who entered. John 3:16, Romans 3:23, Romans 10:9 and other familiar Scriptures were brought to life over and over again through the gospel being shared. The hunger of the people to receive Christ could be seen in their eyes as they listened to the good news of Jesus Christ and what He had done for them on the cross.

The people from Lakeside came to work and work they did. Their team work and organization has been perfected over the years of serving God through medical clinics. What a blessing to watch God work through these 25 people! Bobby and I feel privileged to have had the opportunity to spend a week with our new friends, brothers and sisters in Christ, from Lakeside. Their heart for God and their willingness to serve was evident in all they did! Thanks to you all for sharing the gospel and the love of Christ with the people of Jocotillo. We can’t wait to do it again!
