Building Steps in Guatemala

Hickory Grove came to Guatemala in April, 2012 and brought a team to construct steps in the slums of Guatemala City. They came equipped to work and to rebuild steps that had crumbled beneath the heavy rains during our rainy seasons. These steps had become dangerous as they are the only means for the people in La Barrenquilla, Sector 4 to enter their homes. The men were equipped with tools and expertise but they also came equipped with the Word of God. As the guys from Hickory Grove worked alongside the people in this area they not only built steps but they built relationships. Christ shone through these men and washed the people here with His love. Thanks to this group we now have beautiful steps to walk down to reach these people and there are also beautiful relations that they left behind. They will never be forgotten in La Barrenquilla.
